Simple Indian Iddaly Cooking Recipe
Ingredients :-
- Rice powder - 2 cups
- Mash Daal ( Urud Daal / Uzhunnu parippu ) - 1 cup
- Cooked rice - 2 tbsp
- Uluva seeds - 8 no's
- Water - as required
- Salt - as required
Simple Indian Iddaly Cooking Recipe
Method :-
- Soak Urud Daal / Uzunnu Parippu and Uluva seeds in the water for 2 - 3 hours.Instead of rice powder, you can soak 2 cups of white rice.
- Mix all the ingredients ( except salt ) finely in a mixer grinder with enough water. You should be careful when you add the water. Do not add too much water. The water should just cover the ingredients in the mixer grinder.
- Add this mixture in a big steel pot and cover with a lid.
- Keep it aside for 6-8 hours to foam.
- Add the salt and mix well.
- Boil the water in a steamed Iddaly cooker.
- Pour the mixture in the Idaly plate / mould and keep it in the Iddaly cooker.
- Cook the Iddalies until two whistles come out.
- Remove the Iddaly from the mould and serve with sambar , Coconut Chutney or potato stew.
