      Simple Indian Instant Dhaal – Drum stick leaves Curry is very simple,everyday dish regularly cooked in many Indian kitchens.You can make this healthy dish within 10 minutes.Boiled daal is cooked in a spiced gravy of onions and tomatoes and it makes a great curry with rotis and chapatis.I also make this sometimes as an accompaniment to a subtle flavored rice or steamed white rice. Simple Indian Instant Dhaal – Drum stick leaves Curry Cooking Recipe

Ingredients:-

  • Dhaal                                             -                1 cup
  • Drum stick leaves                           -                ½ cup
  • Small onions chopped                    -               2 no’s
  • garlic finely minced                         -               3 cloves
  • Dry red chilies                                -               4 no’s
  • Curry leaves                                   -               2 stems
  • mustard seeds                                 -                ½ tsp
  • Red chilly powder                           -               1 tbsp (adjust according to your choice)
  • Turmeric powder                            -               1/4 tsp
  • Salt                                                -                according to your taste
  • Tomatoes finely chopped                -               3 medium size
  • Water                                             -              1 cup
  • Oil                                                  -              1 1/2 tbsp

Simple Indian Instant Dhaal – Drum stick leaves Curry Cooking Recipe

Method:-

  • Add the dhaal ,one stem of curry leaves,tomato,turmeric powder,drum stick leaves, salt and water into pressure cooker.
  • Then pressure cook for 2 whistle or till it becomes mashed.
  • Heat oil in a cooking vessel and add the mustard seeds and let them pop.
  • Add small onions and garlic and saute till they turn light brown.
  • Add the red chilies and the remaining curry leaves and stir fry for a few seconds till the flavors are released in the oil.
  • Turn off the fire.
  • Add the red chilly powder and mix well for 10 seconds.
  • Add the boiled dhaal and drum stick leaves into this vessel and mix well.
  • Add the salt and water if necessary.
  • Mix well and bring to a boil.Turn off the fire.
  • Serve hot with rotis/chapatis/steamed white rice.
