        Simple Indian Rice Kheer is a delicious and nutritious sweet dish which is very easy to make . I tried this recipe when one of my friends came unexpectedly to my home. There was no Moong Daal or vermicelli  at my home . Then I thought that why should not I prepare rice kheer. Then I could prepare the Indian Rice Kheer within 20 minutes.It came out really tasty. My friend also learnt this recipe. So I wanted to share it with everyone.The recipe is as given below. All children as well as adults definitely like this Simple Indian Rice Kheer. Simple Indian Rice Kheer( Payasam)

Ingredients :-
  • Any rice washed                  -               1 cup
  • Milk                                    -                2 cup
  • Jaggery /Unrefined sugar syrup -          1/2 cup
  • Nestle Sweetened Condensed Milk { Milk Maid}  -   1 Can
  • Crushed coconut                 -                3 tbsp
  • Cashew nuts                        -               8 no's
  • Dry grapes                          -               10 no’s
  • Salt                                     -               1 pinch
  • Cardamom powder             -               1/4 tsp
  • Ghee                                   -               3 tbsp
  • Water                                  -               1 cup

Simple Indian Rice Kheer( Payasam) Recipe

Method:-
  •  Add the rice , coconut , 1 cup of milk and water into pressure cooker.
  •  Then pressure cook for 4- 5 whistle or till it becomes mashed.
  •  Boil the jaggery ( 2 no’s) in 1 cup of water till it dilutes fully.
  •  Pour this jaggery syrup into the cooked rice and boil.
  •  Pour the remaining milk and salt into the rice and boil in the minimum flame.
  •  Add the condensed milk and stir it well.
  •  Again let it sit in medium heat for another 4-5 minutes.
  •  Add the cardamom powder and stir well.
  •  After 1 minute, switch off the stove.
  •  Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the cashew nuts and dry grapes and add it to the kheer( Payasam).
  •  Serve the kheer hot or chilled after a meal.
